Many people tend to discount the importance of rear shocks in a Sprite. After all, the back ends are so light, why would it matter? Well, when you hit the bump in front of our shop with bad rear shocks, the entire boot operates as a subwoofer and lets out a KA-BONG! So rear shocks matter a whole lot indeed. Make sure yours are good!

If your shocks are leaking, youre done. Lots of people like to refill them, but they will simply leak out again. We replace all leakers. You should too.

If yours aren’t leaking, you may not be able to tell if they are shot just by pressing down on the rear fender. Better to disconnect the arms and see if they move smoothly through their entire range without any loose or dead spots. Any loose undamped arm motion translates to inferior ride and performance!

This set of rear shocks offers an economical option to replace leaking or bad lever shocks. We also offer a premium version, available here, and an uprated “Lemans” version, available here.

We have two shipping options available for your lever shocks. You can choose to ship us your cores first and avoid being charged the core charge. We MUST receive your shock cores in rebuildable condition prior to shipping your new shocks if you select this option. A “core” shock is defined as the old shock removed from the car with the “dog bone” link removed.

We can also ship from our stock immediately and you don’t have to send us your cores until you receive the new ones. This option will incur a $120 core deposit (per pair, $60 per shock), refunded upon receipt of your rebuildable shock cores. We MUST receive your shock cores in rebuildable condition in order to receive your core refund.

Postage is not included, so core return shipping and packing will be at your expense.

CORE NOTE: Dog bonesmustbe removed from shocks for a refund of your core charge. There will also be a deduction from your core refund if any of the following effect rebuildability: missing/broken/damaged valves, covers, arms, and clinch bolts. Also if the unit is seized, cracked or has oversized mounting holes.
